TN govt to table Ease of Doing Business Report Bill next month, MSMEs say much needed

New Delhi, Sept 27 (KNN) Eyeing at facilitating business in the state and fetching a rank in the ease of doing business report, the Tamil Nadu Government is all set to introduce the Ease of Doing Business Bill next month. The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are hopeful that the bill will have positive impact towards the sector.

Talking to KNN, C.K Mohan, General Secretary of Tamil Nadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA) said that considering the changing nature of business all over the world, the industry did long for a bill that could bring in ease of doing business in the region.

Mohan said that the prime focus of the bill being simplification in conducting business, aspiring entrepreneurs expect that the bill will help them open or expand their units in other regions of the state as well, who earlier were hesitant considering the complications.

Citing the problems that the bill is expected to address, Mohan added that in the new ease of doing business bill, different stages that required running from pillar to post will all go digital, smoothening the procedure for the sector.

Also there is stringent framework proposed to facilitate time bound clearances and licensing for the industry.

Commenting on the relevance of the bill for the MSME sector, Mohan informed that though the bill is a uniform document in nature and there is no separate mention of the MSMEs. Since the industries in whole suffer from similar issues while doing business, the bill is expected to prove instrumental towards the development of the sector in the region. (KNN/ DA)
