Training programme on gold appraisal

New Delhi, May 19 (KNN) In order to help entrepreneurs engaged in gold business and jewellery learn techniques of assaying, evaluation of gold ornaments, determine the electroplated items of other metals and information about stones, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) - Technology Development Centre, Agra is organising a training programme on gold appraisal.

The five-day certificate course will be held from May 24 to 28, 2014 at Noida.

The course content will cover topics such as basic metal, karat gold and fine gold, conversion karatage / fineness chart, alloying and kartage, gold colours and its alloy composition, colour elements, silver, stones and its shapes and valuing of gold and stones.

Participants will also lean about electroplating, assaying and its types, hall marking, weight and balances, testing procedures, touch stone testing, composition of touch acid, soldering and its types, as well as rules and regulations for appraisers.

The training programme is suitable for bank professionals, private financial institutions, jewellers, professionals involved in gold business, unemployed and others. 
In addition to practical sessions on assaying, valuation of gold and testing of electroplated items, participants will learn testing of 7 other metals like silver, tin, zinc, German silver, brass and copper.

The course designed by experts in the field will add value to participant’s current career prospects. They will get exposure to world class practices followed in the industry. (KNN/ST)
