Training programme on value addition in essential oils, aroma chemicals

Kannauj, Sept 4 (KNN) The Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre (FFDC) is organising a training programme on value addition in essential oils, aroma chemicals and creation methodology for fragrances and flavours.

The course on distillation, extraction and value addition of essential oils with practical demo to make isolates and aroma chemicals will be held from September 9 to 17 here.

The programme will provide insights about the use of natural and synthetic fragrant raw materials for creation of fragrances and flavours along with application in different products.

The course content will cover topics such as India and world scenario of essential oils, processing and techniques of essential oils, basic of fractional distillation and value addition in essential oils citronella, lemongrass, mint and basil.

It will also include fundamentals of fragrance and flavours creation methodology, classification of odours, familiarization with fragrant raw materials, creation of fragrances, creation of flavours, evaluation of fragrance, and application of fragrances and flavours.

FFDC has an objection to serve, sustain and upgrade the status of farmers and industry engaged in the aromatic cultivation and its processing, so as to make them competitive both in local and the global market. (KNN/ST)
