Transport minister launches indigenous software to help SMEs

New Delhi, May 20 (KNN) Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday launched a totally indigenous software Kalculate Business Desktop (KBD) which will be a boon for the SME industry.

The software is built on Linux platform that complies with the government’s new open source policy. It will assist business users to do their accounting-inventory-sales-purchase automation in a highly affordable way and called for converting knowledge into economy.

Being bundled with Open LX Linux Operating System, the user gets  Operating System, Office Suite (with full compatibility to all other data  formats, Internet Suite of applications, Graphics and Multimedia  applications, Utilities, Tools and a lot more.

In his address, during the launch of the software Gadkari stressed that information technology and bio-technology are India’s future. He said Narendra Modi government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, along with Made in India, would make the country ‘Number one’ in the world.

He stressed the need to lessen dependence on imports and encourage exports and convert knowledge into wealth.

The function was attended by UNI Chairman Vishwas Tripathi, MP from Bhadohi, Virender Singh and Co-Convenor Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Ashwini Mahajan among others. (KNN Bureau)
