New Delhi, Dec 11 (KNN) The MSME Ministry held a review meeting of the World Bank assisted Technology Centre System Project along with other projects.

“Tripartite Review of World Bank assisted Technology Centre System Project was done today along with other projects,” the Ministry wrote on the micro-blogging site twitter.

The pace of expenditure and early finalization of tenders was highlighted during the review meeting.

The objective of the Technology Centre Systems Program Project is to enhance the productivity of MSMEs by improving their access to technology and business advisory services as well as skilled workers through systems of financially sustainable Technology Centres (TCs).

There are three components to the project, the first component being technical assistance to the existing and new technology centres.

The second component is the investments to develop new and upgrade existing technology centres. Finally, the third component is the technical assistance to the MSME Ministry for Program implementation and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).

The M&E system includes, in particular, independent surveys of customers and stakeholders (including potential private competitors to the TCs) to assess the transformative impact of the program, as well as to ensure there is no significant crowding-out of the private sector.

The total cost of the project is USD 400.00 million and the project was approved on April 25, 2014. (KNN Bureau)
