Tuticorin small industry association promotes industry

Chennai, May 23 (KNN) To promote the small scale industries, Thoothukudi District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (THUDITSSIA) conducted 'New entrepreneurship generation programme' in Tuticorin yesterday.

The participants were given details of subsidy schemes offered by the Central and State governments for business development and industrial growth, how to avail collateral-free loans from banks, different features of the New Entrepreneur cum Enterprise Development Scheme (NEEDS), launched by the State government with extension of subsidy, schemes of District Industries Centre (DIC) and Tamil Nadu Industries and Investment Corporation.(TIIC).

The successful entrepreneurs even spoke about the managerial skills required in the face of power crisis and manpower shortage. Twenty-five entrepreneurs participated in the programme.

C Naren Dharmaraj, general secretary, THUDITSSIA, P S Ganesan, coordinator, KVIC, Madurai, and officials from the DIC and TIIC were present. (KNN)
