Unemployment to self-employment is our motto, says MSME Minister

Dubai, Apr 14 (KNN) Stressing the importance of skill development, Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) minister, Kalraj Mishra said that MSMEs which are the backbone of the country need to upgrade their skills and also enhance the quality of products and services they offer.

Speaking at the ‘Talk by Kalraj Mishra’ organised by Indian Business and Professional Council in association with the Consulate General of India, UAE, “Our motto is unemployment to self-employment,” said that minister.

He said that the contribution to the development and economy of the country is massive and can never be appreciated enough.

However, he pointed out that imperialism has killed our cottage industries, which are an age old legacy, adding that Gandhi too worked to promote and revive it.

Talking to entrepreneurs there, he said that self-confidence is necessary ingredient for their success.

He reiterated MSMEs contribution to the economy - 40 per cent in manufacturing, 45 per cent in exports, and 37 per cent to the total GDP. (KNN Bureau)
