Union Minister Narayan Rane says plastic industry to attain Rs 10 lakh cr turnover by 2027

New Delhi, Nov 17 (KNN) Union Minister for MSME, Narayan Rane on Wednesday said that the plastic industry is expected to attain a turnover of Rs 10 lakh crore by 2027.

He said along with this the industry will generate employment opportunities for over 1 crore people along with rise in exports to 2 lakh tonnes.

The Minister was speaking at the Mega International Conference on Global MSME Convention for Plastic Industry.

It is being organised by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in partnership with the All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA). 

Highlighting the contribution of MSMEs towards the overall economy, he said that Plastic industry is an integral part of the economy which approximately 50,000 enterprises, most of which are MSMEs.

The two-day event starting from November 16 saw participation of more than 300 business owners from the plastic industries.   (KNN Bureau)
