Union Minister Narayan Rane sets target of 2 cr MSME registration in 16 months

New Delhi, Aug 3 (KNN) After achieving 1 crore MSME registration on Udyam portal in 25 months, the Union Minister for MSME Narayan Rane on Tuesday asked the officials to achieve 2 crore registration in a span of 16 months.

The Digi Locker facility for Udyam Registration was also launched on the occasion. 

"In a span of 25 months, as many as 1 crore MSMEs have registered on the Udyam portal on a voluntary basis and declared that they employ 7.6 crore people, of which 1.7 crore are women," an official statement said.

Highlighting registration as an identity for MSMEs to avail benefits of schemes, he stressed on the need for Udyam registrations.

The Minister also emphasised on the significant role of MSMEs in India’s GDP, exports and employment growth.  (KNN Bureau)
