UP govt to organize divisional level ODOP summit for MSMEs

New Delhi, Nov 14 (KNN) Making another effort to promote ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) scheme, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to organize divisional level summit for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises.

The divisional summit will be held between November 29 and December 24 at Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Moradabad, Agra, Kanpur and Saharanpur. 

The same kind of summit was also organized for the MSME sector here in August to promote the ‘One district one product’ (ODOP) scheme.

The directions for the ODOP divisional summit were issued by Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Anoop Chandra Pandey.

The summits at the divisional level are being organized with the aim of benefiting entrepreneurs of the MSME sector where, besides the technical session, exhibitions and buyers’ and sellers’ meet will also be organized. 

About the summit, Chief Secretary Anoop Chandra Pandey said the Chief Minister would be invited for the summit at Gorakhpur.

Highlighting the schemes undertaken by the government, Pandey said that so far under various centrally- and state-sponsored schemes like Mudra Yojna, Prime Minister’s job creation scheme, Chief Minister Yuva Swarojgar Yojana, Stand-up Yojna, 14,800 jobs had been created benefiting 4,937 beneficiaries.

Also, 74 ODOP camps and 69 ODOP exhibitions were organized in the state where over 20,000 persons participated.

During the ODOP summit in August a credit of Rs 1,006 crore was disbursed among 4,095 entrepreneurs, he added.
