Jamshedpur, Nov 2 (KNN) In order to promote the small scale industries, the Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) has come out with special concessions for the small units, including those registered with the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) for designing and manufacturing of Magnetite Ball Mill in Jharkhand.

The Jaduguda Mine is a uranium mine in Jaduguda village in the Purbi Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

UCIL has sought for suppliers for designing, engineering, manufacture and painting supply, erection, installation and commissioning of magnetite ball mill. The small scale units including the ones that are registered with the NSIC have been exempted from the bidding fee.

Jaduguda Mine has the distinction of being the first Uranium Mine of the country where mining operations began in 1967. It had an annual turnover of about Rs 304 Crores in the financial year 2007-08.

As per the Public Procurement Policy for goods produced and services rendered by MSEs, all Central ministries and PSUs will have to ensure that a minimum 20 per cent of all their total annual purchases of products or services are from MSEs.  (KNN/SD)
