W Bengal to review Acts, Rules to improve ease of doing business

Kolkata, Nov 18 (KNN)   The Government of West Bengal is planning to review its Acts and Rules in an effort to do away with redundant and duplicate laws and make necessary changes to improve ease of doing business in the state.

“MSME and Textiles Department, Government of West Bengal has commissioned a study to examine various Acts and Rules and related compliance procedures relevant for the MSME Sector.  KPMG has been engaged as the advisory consultant for this study, which is aimed to identify redundancy, duplication, overlap and complexity in the existing Acts and Rules and subsequently to simplify the same with a progressive approach suggesting desired amendments leading to improvement in the ease of doing business in Bengal,” informed FOSMI in a notification.
 
As a part of this study the Department along with KPMG is organising a focused group discussion (FGD) with FOSMI members on November-21, 2014 commencing at 3.45 PM.
 
The meeting would enable FOSMI members to share and highlight their experiences and problems, if any, faced in the compliance processes.  (KNN/ES)
