Visakhapatnam, Sep 21 (KNN) With a special focus on MSME manufacturers, the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) would facilitate setting up units at Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) in Vizag.

WASME has entered into a strategic collaboration with AMTZ as an industry facilitator at Visakhapatnam. WASME’s facilitation desk would handhold its members in setting up the units at AMTZ.

AMTZ Officials said through this collaboration, WASME provides a global platform to MSMEs interested in setting up their units at AMTZ.

The move would also boost confidence of manufacturers and help build a long-term relationship, the official added.

After the launch of the expression of interest (EOIs) for various common scientific facilities and manufacturing units, these collaborations will bring about required additional stakeholder synergies and interest among the interested manufacturers service providers, AMTZ officials said.

WASME comes with an International congregation of medium and small scale manufacturers and has a substantial presence in India with a large number of component manufacturers in its fold, AMTZ said.

Spread over 270 acres, the foundation stone for AMTZ project was laid in the third week of August this year and infrastructure for medical devices manufacturing firms is expected to be completed in the next one year. The AMTZ is the first of its kind zone dedicated for manufacturing medical devices in the country.
