Gandhinagar, Apr 6 (KNN) Aiming towards reviving sick MSME units in the state, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industries (GCCI) is roping in PSUs to support them by making them useful for Make in India programme.

Talking to KNN, GCCI President Rohit Patl said, “Under the Make in India campaign, government is inviting investors from across the globe to set up their units in India. For that there is a great need of space and infrastructure. The infrastructure and space of sick units, which are in fully operational condition and have closed down due to various reasons, can be used for this.”

Patel highlighted that as many as 48,000 SMEs have turned sick in the state over the years.

He said that the units have closed due to various reasons such as finance, lack of modern machineries etc.

“Why not make use to the existing infrastructure of these sick SMEs?,” he said adding that this would help them revive.

With this endeavor, GCCI is organizing a two-day exhibition in which B2B meetings, interactive sessions with industry experts, vendor development programmes would be held.

GCCI President said that various Public Sector Units have been invited for the event to be held here on April 29-30.

“We have invited the big companies to guide the MSMEs on way forward,” he said.

On the Public Procurement Policy, he said that there will be session on Vendor Development during the event. (KNN Bureau)
