Will focus on boosting manufacturing of products that are being imported presently: MSME Minister

New Delhi, June 4 (KNN) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Nitin Gadkari today took charge of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME).

Gadkari said his ministry will focus on enhancing rural agriculture economy, economic potential and creating more employment opportunities in the rural agriculture sector.

Talking to media persons, the Minister said for the development of country and employment generation, MSME sector plays a crucial role. To increase the growth rate and employment potential, small scale industries are in need for uplift and the Government is trying to do it.

‘’A major part of small scale industries are settled in urban areas. Industries like cottage industries, small scale industries, which is related to rural economy are in rural areas. Our primary motive is to generate employment in rural an agriculture sector. Industries should start in rural areas itself where there is availability of raw material and agricultural waste is generated,” Gadkari said.

Employment generation will hike rural economy sector. Rural agriculture sector, growth and employment are in focus. Agriculture products like drumsticks and bamboo are in demand and these sectors need to grow and be encouraged more, the Minister stressed.

The Ministry is also working on a plan to boost manufacturing of the products which are being imported in the country presently.
