Women entrepreneurs, artisans showcase products & handicrafts at Dilli Haat

New Delhi, Nov 13 (KNN)  More than 180 stalls showcasing exquisite handicrafts and other products make by women entrepreneurs have been set up at the capital city's open air craft bazaar, Dilli Haat.

Organized by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development, Women of India Exhibition - 2014 exhibiting products and handicrafts by women from all over India began here today.

The exhibition being held from November- 13th to 19 was inaugurated by the Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Vinay Sheel Oberoi.
 
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary said that the exhibition is being held for the first time to celebrate the efforts and initiatives of women of India. He said that it has been dedicated to Women of India so that the women entrepreneurs and artisans especially from rural India get an opportunity to exhibit and sell their products. 
 
Such an exhibition would give the much needed window to all such women who are working incognito in the vast width and breadth of our country, he added.

This year, the exhibition will not only empower the women but also serve as platform to educate the people about the programmes, schemes and Acts of the Ministry relating to women and children.
 
The projects, polices and new initiatives of the Ministry have been displayed at a separate exhibition at the venue. The latest scheme of the Ministry, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao has been highlighted in this exhibition.  (KNN/ES)
