Women-owned Industrial Park kick starts in Hyderabad for a progressive MSME ecosystem

Hyderabad, Mar 9 (KNN) A completely women-owned FLO Industrial Park in Hyderabad has started its operation which marks as a progressive development in the MSME ecosystem with regards to making the sector inclusive for women.

This park is set up by FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), the women business wing of FICCI in partnership with the Telangana government which was commenced on the occasion of International Women’s Day.  

It’s a 50  acres park is a flagship project established with an investment of Rs 250 crore and participation is open to Chapter Members, and the national members of FLO.  

The industrial park was conceptualized in 2013 exclusively for women was formally inaugurated by KT Rama Rao, Minister for IT E&C, MA&UD, and Industries & Commerce Departments in the presence of  Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary IT, Govt of Telangana, Balamallu, Chairman TSIIC, EV Narasimha Reddy, VC & MD, TSIIC and several other dignitaries.

Minister KT Rama Rao, in his address during the inauguration, urged the entrepreneurs to think big and start to think about emerging technologies.

He asked entrepreneurs to focus on aerospace, defence, food processing, forge global partnership, and promised another 100 acres for the expansion of FLO women industrial park, subject to the park focus on novel products and additional 10 per cent subsidy for women entrepreneurs.

Ujjwala Singhania, FLO National President in her address said “The objective of FIP (FLO Industrial Park) is to propagate and encourage sustainable development and growth.  The commencing of FLO Industrial Park in Hyderabad today is a significant milestone, and will pave the way to create more integrated business townships linked to the Industrial parks and establish such projects at various chapters.”

  The park has also created amenities to offer a home environment for women by keeping in mind the necessities of Working Women Entrepreneurs, including designing crèches and playschools. (KNN Bureau)
