Madurai, Apr 15 (KNN)  To enable entrepreneurs to learn the techniques for effective cost management and thereby increase profits, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here has organised a workshop on cost and profitability management here tomorrow.
 
“The objective of the workshop is to develop knowledge on the techniques for effective cost management and increased profitability and to create in-house skills on Total Cost Management tools like Activity Based Costing (ABC), Activity Based Management (ABM), Target Costing (TC) and implementation of Cost Savings techniques, for the Manufacturing and Service industry,” said official data.
 
Another workshop on value maximization for organizational efficiency and growth will be held in Puducherry on April-23.  The workshop is designed to create basic awareness among the participants about the powerful concepts of value chain, identification of opportunity at organizational level, selection of right initiatives or tools / techniques, utilize the available resources, and enhance the leadership capability by improving the business communication process for better efficiency and growth of the organization.
 
Earlier, CII Rajasthan had organized a training programme on 7 QC Tools: a way to problem solving on April-10 in Jaipur.  The focus of the programme was on improvement of quality of products and processes.

Participants were given a detailed presentation on creative problem solving techniques using 7 QC tools.  

Delegates had a good understanding on the seven tools of quality control, which included check sheet, stratification, pareto chart, cause and effect diagram, histogram, scatter diagram, graph and control chart.   
 
The session also covered brainstorming, its types, rules and the benefits of quality circles. (KNN/ES)
