Kohima, Mar 14 (KNN) Common Services Centres (CSC) E-Governance Services India Limited has organised a state level workshop on digital Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
‘Digital MSME’ is a scheme to make MSME digitally empowered and motivate them to adopt ICT tools and applications in their production and business process.
Er Asenla Walling, Executive Engineer, Department of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland highlighted the various schemes undertaken by the department in the state.
Sabarigiri M, assistant director, MSME DI, Dimapur threw some light on the various features and benefits of Government e Marketplace (GeM) portal for MSME segment.
''GeM is a public procurement portal through which the Government is required to procure all its services and products subject only to availability,'' he said.
He also spoke about the Public Procurement Policy which targets a 25 per cent of all Government purchases through MSMEs which further sets a target of 5 per cent to be purchased from SC and ST MSMEs out of the 25 per cent.
''Vast improvement was required for the SC and ST MSMEs because only 5 per cent of the targeted 5 per cent has been achieved so far,'' he added.
Further lauding GeM, he said that there is a huge scope for MSMEs to benefit out of GeM and encouraged the businesses and entrepreneurs to register under GeM.
