World Bank-funded tech centre likely in Jammu

Jammu, Jan 4 (KNN) MSME Secretary Madhav Lal has assured industries in Jammu and Kashmir that the World Bank-funded Technological Centre for various industrial activities will be set up in Jammu if the State Government sends the proposal to the Centre within a month.
 
“If the J&K State Govt. sends us confirmation of land availability earmarked for World Bank-funded Technology Centre within one month, the same will be got started in Jammu which will definitely help in opening the opportunities for the training of local youths in various trades and also upgrading the industries infrastructure,” Lal said while addressing the Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) here recently.
 
While welcoming the Secretary, President of BBIA, Annil Suri highlighted various issues related to the industrial sector. A tool room/technological centre will be located in BBIA complex for which the requisite land has already been identified by J&K SIDCO; and the Infrastructure Development (ID) scheme for Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex will be enhanced.
 
MSME Secretary also advised the entrepreneurs to take benefits of MSME Schemes such as cluster development, common testing facilities and national awards etc. (KNN Bureau)
