World MSME Day: President Kovind inaugurates MSME Conclave

New Delhi, June 27 (KNN) The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) is organising national MSME conclave “MSME Udyam Sangam 2018” today on the occasion of World MSME Day.

The event is being held with the purpose of encouraging dialogue and partnership among various stakeholders of the MSME ecosystem and for promoting innovation and knowledge sharing on MSME related issues, the Ministry said in its Facebook post.

This is the 2nd United Nations Micro, Small and Medium -Sized Enterprise Day.

Another purpose to hold the conclave is convergence and synergy of all the government initiatives relating to MSME Sector.

President Ram Nath Kovind, MSME Minister Giriraj Singh and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan are present in the Conclave.

President Kovind inaugurated the Conclave. He said after agriculture, MSME is the second largest employment generating sector.

He said for India as well as all the other countries MSMEs play a critical role in growth and development.

Addressing the Conclave, Giriraj Singh said, “Under Solar Charkha Mission as many as five lakh people will get employment.”

He said 15 additional technology centres will be created by 2020.

MSME Secretary AK Panda said MSME itself is a “Sangam” and government of India has taken several initiatives which has contributed towards nation building. (KNN Bureau)
