Aadhaar App Crosses 31 Million Downloads: UIDAI
New Delhi, Jun 22 (KNN) The Aadhaar App has crossed 31 million downloads within five months of its launch, according to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
UIDAI in a press release said that nearly 4 million users have updated their mobile numbers through the app, while around 850,000 users have used it to update their addresses.
The app enables Aadhaar holders to access a range of services digitally, including mobile number and address updates, e-Aadhaar downloads, online appointment booking for Aadhaar Seva Kendras and Aadhaar authentication history.
Other features include biometric lock and unlock functionality, face authentication for identity verification and QR code-based sharing of identity information.
According to UIDAI, the mobile application can be used for identity verification in various settings, including hotel check-ins, hospital admissions, visitor management systems, event entry and verification of gig workers and service providers.
The Aadhaar App is available on Android and iOS platforms.
