BHASHINI, Assam Innovation Foundation Sign MoU to Expand Multilingual Digital Services

New Delhi, Jun 22 (KNN) The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) and the Assam Innovation & Startup Foundation (AISF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on language technology, multilingual digital services and artificial intelligence-based solutions in Assam.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will work together to integrate BHASHINI's language technologies into AISF programmes, digital platforms and services as part of the BHASHINI Rajyam initiative. 

The collaboration includes the use of language translation APIs, enhancement of translation services in Assamese and other regional languages, development of voice-enabled applications and expansion of linguistic data collection through the Bhashadaan platform.

The partnership will also support startups, entrepreneurs, researchers and academic institutions in developing multilingual AI applications using BHASHINI's technology stack. 

The initiative aims to promote the adoption of language technologies across sectors and encourage the creation of solutions tailored to local linguistic requirements.

As part of the collaboration, DIBD will provide AI-based translation services, technical support and integration assistance, while AISF will help identify language requirements and facilitate participation from startups, innovators and research institutions.

The two organisations may also undertake joint activities related to research, capacity building, innovation and ecosystem development to support the adoption of multilingual digital technologies in the state.
