Coal Ministry to Unveil AAROH Report, Sign Mine Closure Agreement with Germany on July 22

New Delhi, July 21 (KNN) The Ministry of Coal will release AAROH – Annual Report on Mine Closure in New Delhi on July 22, highlighting the scientific closure of 42 coal mines.

Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy will attend the event. Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh and Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey will also be present.

The Ministry of Coal will sign an Implementation Agreement with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Germany, for technical cooperation on coal mines proposed for closure. 

The agreement will focus on institutional capacity building, knowledge sharing and the adoption of international best practices in scientific mine closure and post-mining development.

The event will also witness the inauguration of Coal NEER Plants established by Coal India Limited subsidiaries and the signing of Tripartite MoUs among Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), the Jharia Rehabilitation and Development Authority (JRDA), Hindalco Industries Limited and Rajdhani Universal Fabrics Private Limited for establishing vocational training facilities under the Revised Jharia Master Plan.
