DGFT Rolls Out Automated FSC Issuance to Speed Up Export Clearances

New Delhi, Sep 1 (KNN) The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has enabled automated issuance of Free Sale and Commerce Certificates (FSC) on its portal to reduce processing time and compliance requirements for eligible exporters.

The certificates are issued under the Foreign Trade Policy for products not covered under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940. Previously, applications were processed by Regional Authorities (RAs) after manual scrutiny and verification.

Under the new system, eligible applications will be processed automatically based on prescribed parameters without being routed for manual scrutiny. 

Applications requiring verification or failing to meet the automated processing criteria may continue to be referred to the concerned RA.

Certain auto-approved applications may also be flagged for subsequent review under the system’s risk management parameters.

The automated process is aimed at reducing manual intervention, improving processing predictability and facilitating faster issuance of FSCs, while retaining verification and oversight for applications requiring further scrutiny.
