OMCs Deny Petrol, Diesel Shortage In Odisha Amid Temporary Supply Pressure
New Delhi, May 8 (KNN) Public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) have stated that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in Odisha, following reports of temporary fuel unavailability in some parts of the state.
According to the companies, certain bordering districts witnessed an unexpected rise in demand for fuel during the initial days of the month, leading to temporary supply pressure at a few retail outlets.
OMCs said coordinated steps were immediately initiated to restore supplies, including the deployment of additional tank trucks to accelerate transportation and replenishment of fuel stocks across affected locations.
The companies added that real-time monitoring of inventory levels is being carried out, with priority deliveries being made to retail outlets reporting lower stock positions.
OMCs also advised industrial consumers to source their fuel requirements directly from oil companies instead of purchasing from retail fuel stations, noting that retail outlets are not authorised for bulk sale of petroleum products.
Officials maintained that adequate stocks of petrol and diesel are available across supply locations and fuel stations in the state, and that operations at retail outlets remain normal.
The companies appealed to consumers to avoid panic buying and urged the public to rely on official communication channels for updates related to fuel availability.
