Sales in West India grew by 30%, whereas in East India it grew by 29%, said the report.

In the South India region growth of 22% has been reported while for North India it was reported at 16%.

Speaking about the findings, Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, Retailers Association of India (RAI), said, “It is encouraging to see a steady improvement in sales with 23% growth in April and 24% in May as compared to the pre-pandemic levels.”

“Categories such as garments and footwear have begun to do well on account of the ongoing wedding season and due to the resumption of work from office.
