New Delhi, Aug 18 (KNN) The fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 will be held from September 17-19 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi, bringing together global semiconductor companies, policymakers, industry experts, investors, academia and startups.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the event on September 17. Organised jointly by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and SEMI, the event will be themed “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.”
The three-day event will feature conferences, panel discussions, international country roundtables, technology sessions, startup programmes and workforce development initiatives.
The exhibition is expected to feature 500+ exhibitors, 240+ international companies, 150+ speakers and delegations from more than 40 countries, across over 15,000 square metres.
The programme will cover semiconductor manufacturing and technology, AI and digital transformation, supply chains, materials, policy, sustainability, chip design, startups, innovation, talent and skilling.
India’s semiconductor programme has also expanded, with 12 projects approved under Semicon 1.0, of which three have commenced commercial production. The Union Cabinet has also approved Semicon 2.0 to further strengthen the domestic semiconductor ecosystem.
The government is supporting semiconductor research and design by providing advanced design tools to 332 academic institutions and 105 startups, while 24 startups have been approved under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme.
S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, said the 2026 edition is significant due to the progress of Semicon 1.0 and the launch of Semicon 2.0, which further strengthens India's efforts to build a resilient semiconductor ecosystem.
Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, MeitY and CEO, ISM, said the event will connect global companies, Indian semiconductor manufacturers, government agencies and supply-chain partners, while highlighting opportunities arising from the growing global and domestic semiconductor markets.
