11 trade associations form task force on e-commerce policy; first meet on Feb 9

New Delhi, Feb 5 (KNN) In efforts to ensure that a free, fair and transparent e-commerce policy is formulated by the Government, as many as 11 trade associations from different verticals have joined to form a task force which will hold its first meeting on 9th February in the national capital.

The agenda for the meet is to discuss and decide the future course of action, said Confederation of All India Trader's (CAIT’s) official press release. 

Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General of CAIT has been appointed as the Convenor of Special Task Force constituted by the trade bodies.

He said that obtaining a robust e-commerce policy coupled with an empowered Regulatory Authority to regulate and monitor the e-commerce trade of India is one of the leading pending demands of the traders.

The task force include Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), India Cellular & Electronics Association (ICEA), National Restaurants Association of India (NRAI), All India Transport Welfare Association (AITWA), All India Mobile Retailers Association (AIMRA), Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA), All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation (AICPDF), All India Jewellers & Goldsmith Federation (AIJGF) and Computer Media Dealer Association (CMDA).

Khandelwal assured that strenuous efforts will be made to enrol several other all India bodies of different trade verticals and Chamber of Commerce & Industry of the different States to join the task force. (KNN Bureau)
