26236 candidates roll under skill Development and Entrepreneurship scheme

New Delhi Dec 14 (KNN) Under the scheme of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 19392 candidates have passed Pre- Assessment test and around 26236 candidates have enrolled till date. The scheme was launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment in October, 2014.

15 training providers and nine assessing bodies are presently operational under the scheme in the states of Haryana, Delhi, Telengana, Odisha, Chattishgarh and Himachal Pradesh.

The information was given by the Minister of state Labour and Employment Bandaru Datterey in the Lok Sabha today.

As per the information collected from the States, around Rs. 24,014.51 crore total cess funds had been collected till 30.09.2015, the minister said.

The minister said that the training is beneficial by way of uplifting the status and productivity of Construction workers by giving them skill gap training at the construction sites.

Successful workers after assessment get certificates issued by NCVT which may open their career path further.

The RPL scheme was designed to recognize the skill of workers acquired through non-formal learning and experiences by giving training and certification. (KNN Bureau)
