3rd meeting of India-Qatar Joint Working Group on labour and manpower development

New Delhi, Aug 18 (KNN) Fruitful discussions were held at the delegation level talks of the Joint Working Group, of India and Qatar on issues related to the well-being and welfare of Indian nationals in Qatar, with particular focus on Indian workers.
 
The Indian delegation also availed this opportunity to discuss some specific humanitarian cases. 

Protector General of Emigrants and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India Mohanish Verma, led a 4-member delegation at the third meeting of the Joint Working Group on Labour and Manpower Development which concluded last evening. The Qatari delegation was led by Saleh Saied Al-Shawi, Director, Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. 

Before delegation level talks, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the State of Qatar Abdulla S Al-Khulaifi, received a call by Ambassador of India to Qatar, Sanjiv Arora, accompanied by Government of India’s delegation, in the presence of the Qatari delegation. 

The Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of Qatar conveyed his Government’s deep appreciation for the vital contribution of the large, accomplished and highly regarded Indian community to the progress of Qatar. He underlined Qatar Government’s commitment to the ongoing process of labour reforms in Qatar. (KNN Bureau)
