6,000 exhibitors showcasing products at 34th IITF

New Delhi, Nov 14 (KNN) All roads lead to Delhi’s largest exhibition centre, Pragati Maidan as over 6,000 exhibitors from India and abroad are participating in the India International Trade Fair 2014 starting today in the capital city. 

As many as 31 central government ministries, departments along with their agencies/PSUs, all the states and union territories and leading private sector companies will be showcasing products of the domestic sector over the next two weeks.

The 34th edition of the B2B and B2C global event organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) has ‘Women entrepreneurs’ as the theme and this aspect will feature prominently in the display profile of the state and UT pavilions.

“The ‘Women Entrepreneur’ is an act of business ownership and business creation that empowers women economically, increases their economic strength and position in the society,” said an official release.

South Africa has been accorded the Partner Country status while Thailand is the Focus Country and Delhi will be Focus State in trade show that will be held until November-27.

Significantly, the fair will provide a reliable and tested platform to SME exporters, entrepreneurs and investors. It has tremendous significance for the business community as they have to play a critical role in sustainable, inclusive, job-led growth and development.

“Apart from showcasing a wide range of merchandise and services, the fair will be committed to the new mantra ‘Make in India’ for further extending India’s global appeal for investment in diverse sectors,” it said.

It will also focus on the cleanliness drive launched by the prime minister under Bharat Swachchta Mission.

Other attractive features of the event are State Day celebrations, music and dance programmes of classical and semi classical genre, geet, gazal, qawaali, street plays and puppet shows. (KNN/ST)
