70 new models to be unveiled at Auto Expo

New Delhi, Jan 31 (KNN) The 12th edition of Auto Expo that will unveil 70 new vehicles with 26 global unveilings, is expected to revive the auto industry and give a fillip to the Indian economy.

The event scheduled to be held in the first week of February, is jointly organised by CII, SIAM and ACMA, accredited by International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA). 

As many as 70 new vehicles will be unveiled, with 26 global unveilings of which 15 are cars, a statement.  It will also feature around 1100 exhibitors in the motor show and about 55 exhibitors in the components show who will display a staggering array of vehicles and components in the exhibition.

Describing the event as a ‘unique and special show’, CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said that this is the first time that the show has been split into two–components and motor show- as the growth in the magnitude of the show warranted it.

Stressing on the importance of the sector, SIAM President Vikram Kirloskar said the auto industry is the locomotive of growth for the Indian economy.

ACMA Past President Deep Kapuria said that the auto components industry is recognized as a leading quality-oriented industry and that over the years, the value-add in components has risen.

While the Components Show will take place from February 6 to 9, 2014 in New Delhi, the Motor Show will take place from February 7 to 11 at Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR. (KNN/ST)
