Expo on agro farm products begins in Kochi today

Kochi, Apr 25 (KNN) A three-day exhibition of agro farm products ‘Njattangadi 2023’ begins at Okkal seed farm of Ernakulam district panchayat in Kerala on April 25, 2023.

Perumbavoor MLA Eldhose Kunnappilly inaugurated the expo which is displaying products from four farms in Ernakulam.

The agro farm products expo will display value-added products, agro machineries, pest repellents, folk artforms, traditional cuisines and utensils.

“This is the best planting season and the exhibition will facilitate farmers to procure the best seeds and saplings. This season is called ‘Aswathi Njattuvela’, a time when farmers start planting on Pathamudayam which falls on Monday. We plan to continue the exhibition in the coming years,” said an official of Okkal farm.

Many projects, including duck rice integration, improving biomass production to make the farm carbon-neutral and starting education tourism for students, will also be inaugurated at the expo.

Soil testing laboratory, pet clinic and agri clinic facilities will also be available at the spot. 

“Those who want to test soil can bring it to the exhibition for testing the quality. Service of veterinary doctors will be available at the pet clinic,” said district panchayat president Ullas Thomas.  (KNN Bureau)
