NCEL Bagged Export Orders Worth Rs 7,000 Cr: Union Minister Amit Shah

New Delhi, Oct 23 (KNN) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that the newly established National Cooperative for Exports Ltd (NCEL) has bagged orders worth Rs 7,000 crore so far.

The Cooperation Minister launched the logo, website, and brochure of NCEL and distribute the membership certificates to NCEL members.

The ‘National Symposium on Cooperative Exports’ was organised by the National Cooperative for Exports Limited (NCEL) in New Delhi today.

Speaking on the occasion, shah said the cooperative will ensure that benefits of exports reach member farmers of cooperatives and will share with them about 50 per cent of the export profit over and above the minimum support price, reported PTI.

"Currently, NCEL is operating from a temporary office. We are recruiting staff. So far, we (NCEL) have received orders worth Rs 7,000 crore." the minister said.

The national meet was held to harness agricultural products exports potential through the newly-established National Cooperative for Exports Limited (NCEL).

As per reports, more than 1,000 members of cooperatives participated in a national symposium.

NCEL is jointly promoted by four leading cooperatives – Gujarat Cooperative Milk MarketingFederation (Amul), Indian Farmers’ Fertiliser Cooperative (Iffco), Krishak Bharti Cooperative (Kribhco), National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (Nafed) and National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC).

NCEL, which focuses on exports of agriculture and allied activities as well as handloom and handicrafts items by enrolling a large number of co-operatives, aim to double its revenue by 2025 from the current level of about Rs 2,160 crore.
