New Delhi, Sep 26 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called upon global investors to explore opportunities in India’s growing food processing sector, highlighting the country’s unique advantages of diversity, demand, and scale.

Speaking at the fourth edition of World Food India in New Delhi, Modi underlined that India is an open and collaborative partner for investments and innovations in this field.

He urged the industry to focus on eco-friendly solutions such as biodegradable packaging and sustainable materials, which he said would shape the future of global food supply chains.

“This is the right time to invest in India. Our doors are open for investors in the entire food chain, and we are ready for collaborations. I urge you all to join this journey, as India offers immense opportunities,” the Prime Minister said.

Modi pointed out that India has emerged as the world’s third-largest start-up ecosystem, with a significant number of enterprises operating in the food and agriculture space. These start-ups, he noted, are not only driving innovation but also strengthening the country’s role in ensuring global food security.

Over the past decade, the government has prioritized the food processing sector, resulting in significant growth. According to Modi, the country’s processing capacity has increased nearly 20-fold in the last 10 years, while food exports have doubled.

He emphasized that these achievements demonstrate India’s potential as a hub for both investment and innovation.

The Prime Minister added that India’s progress in the sector goes beyond domestic needs, as the nation continues to contribute towards stabilizing and strengthening global food security.

He invited international partners to leverage India’s vast market and resources to build resilient and sustainable food systems for the future.
