Union Agriculture Ministry Approves Rs. 605.71 Cr Central Funds to Boost Agri Infrastructure in Rajasthan, Telangana

New Delhi, Aug 13 (KNN) Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has approved a total allocation of Rs 605.71 crore for Rajasthan and Telangana under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) and Krishonnati Yojana (KY).

The approvals were issued during a virtual meeting with Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena and Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Secretary Atish Chandra and senior officials from the Centre and both States also participated.

Rajasthan has been allocated Rs 340.59 crore, comprising Rs 216.12 crore under RKVY and Rs 124.47 crore under KY. Telangana has received Rs 265.12 crore, including Rs 157.66 crore under RKVY and Rs 107.46 crore under KY.

For Rajasthan, the Project Approval Committee (PAC) had approved an annual action plan of Rs 849.37 crore for 2026-27, including a Central share of Rs 509.62 crore. 

The State had received a first Mother Sanction of Rs 216.13 crore and reported expenditure of Rs 164.39 crore, or 76.06 per cent, of the sanctioned amount.

For Telangana, the PAC approved an annual action plan of Rs 651.06 crore for 2026-27, including a Central share of Rs 390.63 crore. Against the first Mother Sanction of Rs 157.65 crore, the State had incurred expenditure of Rs 96.05 crore, representing 60.93 per cent.

Chouhan appreciated Telangana’s Farmer ID and fertiliser distribution model and called for continued monitoring of expenditure under the Oilseeds and Pulses Missions. For Rajasthan, he called for greater attention to the Kisan Credit Card system to ensure timely access to credit for farmers.

The Minister said the allocations would support the implementation of agricultural programmes, including infrastructure development, productivity enhancement, input support and farmer welfare initiatives in the two States.
