Aware Delhite top among consumer complainants

New Delhi, Oct 30 (KNN)  The maximum number of complaints from consumers of different services like telecom and e-commerce were received by the National Consumer Helpline (NHC) from Delhi in September 2013.

The helpline received 23,324 calls from the consumers, seeking assistance across the country, said an official statement here.

As many as 3022 complaints were received from consumers in the national capital area, accounting for 23.87 per cent of the total country wide-complainants. This was followed by the neighbouring state Uttar Pradesh with 15.66 per cent. 

Among the ten states listed by NCH, consumers in Madhya Pradesh made the least number of complaints with 3.48 per cent.

In terms of sectors, the maximum complaints are against ‘product’ sector with 26.54 per cent of the total complaints. It is followed by the telecom sector.

A total number of 1815 complaints were resolved under convergence with various companies from the feedback received from 2079 callers.

Consumers from across the country can access the toll free NCH and seek counselling for consumer related problems faced by them. The helpline also provides information, advice and guidance related to consumer issues, the statement said. (KNN/ST)
