BARTI seeks university tie up for research on equity

Pune, May 29 (KNN) Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), an autonomous institute under the Maharashtra government is teaming up with universities and research institutes to partner with them for research related to equity and social justice.

“The collaboration between BARTI and the University/ the renowned research institute for research and evaluation works will be carried as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will be finalized by mutual consent incorporating funding support by BARTI,” said the Director General of BARTI in a notification.

The research report shall give a cogent picture of Scheduled castes (SC) in general and Marginal castes within SC in particular.

“The indices have to present clear picture/ status of the “Scheduled Castes” and “Marginalized Castes within SC” on issues like health, education, employment, self-employment, IMR, deprivations, basic amenities like housing, water supply, sanitation, electricity and other issues related to socio-education-economic development of SCs,” said the notification.

Furthermore, the other priority area for the research will be to decide the manner in which certain fields of sciences, engineering & technology/ IT- based tools could be used for achieving Equity and Social Justice for socially and educationally backward sections.

The main objective of the research is to bring clear, practicable and measurable improvement in terms of social, economic and environmental impact.

BARTI undertakes research and training programmes in the various spheres of “Equity and Social Justice ” with a view of finding out how and in what manner the concept of “Equity and Social Justice” could be achieved and could be made more effective. (KNN)
