Bihar Govt calls for Skill Development Centres to impart domain skilling

Patna, Sept 21 (KNN) Bihar Government has called for Skill Development Centers (SDCs), who have requisite generic and course specific infrastructure, to get empanelled through online registration process for the domain skilling to offer training to the youth in any of the domain specific courses.

 

Domain skilling is the training imparted to skill the fresh workforce entrants without any prior skill development experience through domain specific demand led skill training activity.

The training would be for candidate in the working age group of 15-59 years.

There are 15 Department of Government of Bihar that have different schemes / initiatives in the skill development space. The departments will be allotting the work to the empanelled SDCs as per their requirement in consultation with BSDM.

For assessment of courses proposed under Industry Led domain skilling the assessment will be done by the Industry or BSDM or jointly by BSDM and the industry. While for industry initiated domain skilling there will be a provision of self-certification (By the Industry Player) or joint certification (Industry Player & BSDM).

About 10% of the total training fee (as paid to the SDC) per learner (to be paid to BSDM through the SDC operator) up to a max of INR 1000 will be taken as refundable security deposit from candidates. This will be refunded if the candidate is successfully certified, but shall be seized if the candidate drops out or fails the assessment.

Currently, under the domain skilling programme, there are 74 courses belonging to 22 sectors including Apparel, Automobile, Electronics, Food Processing, Textile and more. (KNN Bureau)
