New Delhi, Jan 22 (KNN) The first and the foremost role that the Business Membership Organizations (BMOs) can play is on the issue of ignorance or lack of information amongst the entrepreneurs, said Anil Bhardwaj, Secretary General, Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME).

“When we were discussing about ease of doing business, essentially there are two larger elements, one is related to the social aspect and the other is the regulation. When it comes to roles of BMOs in working towards ease of doing business, the first and foremost is they can play a very important role in issue of ignorance or lack of information,” he said.

While addressing the 2nd Award for Responsible India BMOs, he spoke on the roles that the BMOs can share with the government to address the issues faced by the entrepreneurs.

Citing example of the Commercial Courts Law which was passed recently, he said that despite the matter being of such importance to the businesses, majority of people do not know about it.

“The Commercial Courts Law is going to address all commercial related matters. They are going to set up district level courts, state level courts and central level courts exclusively on the commercial matters,” Bhardwaj said.

“You would agree that this is one of the most important developments for people who are into business but none of us know,” he added saying that dissemination of information is one of the key areas in which the associations can play an important role.

Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC) hosted the award function today to recognize the responsible Indian BMOs for their contribution towards the initiative.

The objective of the programme was to encourage BMOs to promote responsible business practices among MSMEs; to encourage the MSMEs support institution to support BMOs to promote such activities; to inspire MSMEs to adopt National Voluntary Guidelines (NVGs) and to disseminate nationally and internationally the best practices done by BMOs towards promoting ‘responsible practices among MSMEs”.  (Watch Full Video) (KNN Bureau)
