Body inclusive of govt officials, MSME associations and experts must be formed for cloud services: TRAI

New Delhi, August 17 (KNN) In a bid to assist the cloud services sector, the Telecom Regulator Authority of India (TRAI) has proposed setting up of a body with government officials, MSME association representatives and experts as members.

TRAI said a panel – Cloud Services Advisory Group (CSAG) is important with different stakeholders as members. The prime focus of the panel would be to advise the authority over the requirements, functioning and challenges in the cloud service sector industry.

The need for a body comes as a response to the expansion of the cloud services sector in the country.

TRAI informed that with the expansion of the sector in the country, it requires additional oversight and provisioning.

According to the proposal, the body shall include representatives from Centre as well as State IT departments, MSME associations, consumer advocacy groups and industry experts. Also law enforcement agencies will be a part of the CSAG.

With a body in place, TRAI expects that the regulation of cloud service providers under the framework formulated by the different stakeholders will help create an environment to attract growth as well as investments.
