C-CAMP & AgriHub of Brazil to create Indo-Brazil Innovation Corridor to encourage innovations in agriculture

New Delhi, Sept 12 (KNN) Aiming to encourage and promote deep science innovations in agriculture allied industries of Brazil and India, the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP-an innovation hub of India) has signed a MoU with AgriHub of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Mato Grosso in Brazil (FAMATO).

The two premier institutes of India and Brazil has signed a MoU with an intent to create and Indo-Brazil Innovation Corridor to foster links between both hubs and enhance collaborations in science-based entrepreneurship, research and businesses in the agriculture sector by leveraging upon each other’s ecosystems.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed, CEO and Director of C-CAMP and Marcos da Rosa, Vice-President, Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Mato Grosso. 

This collaboration is one of the first initiatives undertaken by C-CAMP under its recently launched Agriculture Innovation Centre to address the global farmer’s issues through innovations.

Commenting over this collaboration, C-CAMP, CEO and Director, Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed, said, “India and Brazil share many common values in terms of culture and economy. We are excited that we are working together in Science and Technology, that too in Agriculture sector, which is the backbone of both economies. Through this corridor, we hope to build agriculture innovation collaborations and take innovations to farmers in both countries”.

Calling it a great opportunity, Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Mato Grosso, Vice President, Marcos da Rosa, said, “It’s an important moment for us in the Famato System and for the strengthening of the AgriHub project to make this partnership.

He said that with this partnership both the parties would be able to share technologies and information that will benefit rural producers in both countries.

We have been researching the farmers’ pains to find disruptive solutions and we believe this partnership can be a bridge to hit those solutions, he added.
