Following the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving a boost to cooperative movement in India, the confederation has decided to launch aggressively the cooperative movement in India among the business community of the country.

Calling out the monopolistic policies of the foreign funded global companies and also the big corporate houses, CAIT National President B.C.Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that the retail trade in India is in peril due to the giant companies who have deeply created an uneven level playing field.

“Traders due to limited finance and resources cannot compete the big companies as their purchasing power is limited to defined numbers,” they added.

To compete with big companies, a cooperative model of trade is the best option provided it is given support policies by the government, said the senior officials.

CAIT suggested that under cooperative model, the government can roll out a cluster scheme where different traders come together and pool their resources, finance, technology and marketing and by making themselves a one unit to enhance their purchasing power.  (KNN Bureau)
