CAIT suggests road and highway to be named after Vajpayee as a tribute for his exemplary work for the nation

New Delhi, Aug 29 (KNN) The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) through a written communication to Prime Minister Narendra Modi has suggested that in order to keep alive the remembrance of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Rajpath Road in Delhi should be renamed as "Atal Behari Vajpayee Path".

CAIT National Secretary General, Praveen Khandelwal has also suggested a tall statute of Vajpayee may be erected at Vijay Chowk near Parliament.

Besides, he also suggested that the Golden Quadrilateral Highway Network should also be named as Atal Behari Vajpayee Highway.

He said, “The Golden Quadrilateral Highway Network was the brainchild of Vajpayee to connect the entire Country. If this project is named after him, it will be a true tribute to a person who saw the dream of connecting India with Highways.”

Khandelwal said that former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee was a great Statesman, patriot, visionary and one of the tallest leaders the country ever produced having a charismatic personality coupled with friends across the country & the world.

The indebted Country can take these small steps to keep him alive in the history for the next generations, he added.

The CAIT has sent copies of the letter addressed to Prime Minister to Minister for Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari and Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Puri for necessary action.
