Centre invites applications from agencies for impact assessment of Textile schemes
New Delhi, June 23 (KNN) The Ministry of Textiles has called for applications from agencies to carry out impact assessment of schemes such as the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS), Scheme for Integrated Textile Park (SITP), Silk Samagra, PowerTex India, and Samarth.
All these schemes were launched by the government to enhance India’s position as textile manufacturing hub.
To identify the challenges related to implementation of important textile schemes an impact assessment and beneficiary sentiment survey will be carried.
The start date for submission of bids is July 7 and the end date is August 5. The bids are to be opened on August 8.
The selected agency will need to prepare case studies of beneficiaries covering impact of assistance under the schemes and provide feedback on best practices for designing policy/schemes and ensuring ease of implementation at field level.
After agriculture, textiles industry is one the biggest employer in the country as it provides direct employment to over 45 million people and is a source of livelihood for over 100 million people indirectly. (KNN Bureau)
