"Several hurdles are faced due to some labour laws. There are 44 laws which are being reviewed by the centre," Singh said while addressing EPS Pensioners Felicitation programme here.
"Amendment proposal for 12 laws is ready. If required, old and irrelevant laws will be scrapped," he added.
He also said that hike in minimum pension to Rs 1,000 by Employees' Provident Fund Organisation would create a burden of Rs 11,000 crore on the centre but it will be compensated and burden would not be created on the people.
He was here to launch the minimum and guaranteed pension scheme, which envisages a minimum pension of Rs 1000 monthly for all pensioners. The minimum monthly pension of Rs 1000 for Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) subscribers was announced in August by the Union Labour Ministry. (KNN/SD)
