Centre to set up 15 more tool rooms across the country: MSME Minister

Kanpur, Feb 8 (KNN) Central Government is all set to set up 15 more tool rooms across the country to provide technical training to the youth in order to help them get jobs, said Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Minister Kalraj Mishra.

He said that the 18 tool rooms are already operational in the country and one tool room in being set up in Himachal Pradesh

Mishra said this while addressing the inauguration of Geeta Fair in the city. He further said that the tool room in Kanpur is being set up at the compound of Mayur Mill which is defunct now. The total cost of setting up this room is Rs 100 crore and it will be inaugurated this month.

He also said that all the industries in Kanpur including textile, leather, and hosiery would be involved to train the graduates of the city and help them build a source of income.

It would also help the industries get trained personnel, he added.

In the neighbouring district of Kannauj, the Centre is taking many steps like providing technical knowhow to help its traditional attar industry, the Union Minister said. (KNN Bureau)
