New Delhi, Oct 26 (KNN)  In an effort to promote Indian carpets in global market, the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) will exhibit handmade carpets in the forthcoming Domotex International Trade Fair to be held from January 11 -14, 2014 in Germany’s Hannover.

The council is appointing consultants to manage the props at the four-day long exhibition, seeking proposal from experienced agencies.

Indian handmade carpets which are known for their high density of knotting are widely in demand in the foreign countries.

In fiscal year 2012-13, Indian carpet exports earned over USD 1 billion in foreign exchange with the growth of 2 per cent year-on-year in August 2013.

Around 1500 exhibitors from over 60 countries are expecting to present their products, collections and design evolutions at the world event.  (KNN/ST)
