Addressing the members of the consultative committee attached to his ministry, Chiranjeevi said that he has started consulting state chief ministers impressing upon them to improve security for tourists.
A London tourist reportedly jumped out of the second-floor balcony in her Agra hotel room early Tuesday.
The Tourism Minister has ordered suspension of the three-star rating of Hotel Agra Mahal, where the incident took place.
The Ministry has also issued a show cause notice to the hotel asking it why its licence should not be cancelled, an official statement said.
The Agra incident which comes on the close heel of similar case in Madhya Pradesh is quite an embarrassment for the country.
The British government has issued an advisory to English women travelling to India asking them to exercise caution. The fresh advisory from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office asked women travellers to "exercise caution when travelling in India even if they are travelling in a group".
"A Swiss national suffered a serious sexual attack in Madhya Pradesh on March 16. Women travellers should exercise caution when travelling in India even if they are travelling in a group.
"British women have been the victims of sexual assault in Goa, Delhi, Bangalore and Rajasthan and women travellers often receive unwanted attention in the form of verbal and physical harassment by individuals or groups of men...," the advisory reads under the section of 'Crime'.
"Avoid travelling alone on public transport, or in taxis or auto-rickshaws, especially at night. If you have to use a taxi, get them from hotel taxi ranks and use pre-paid taxis at airports. Try to avoid hailing taxis on the street," adds the advisory from Foreign and Commonwealth Office. (KNN)
